The main PolishedPrices index rose 0.8% during the week, opening at 118.6 points on Monday. The index is currently 5.6% higher than a year ago, and has risen 11.8% from last April’s low. It has risen by 3.8% on the year to date.
Fine quality diamonds were the main driving force behind this week’s increase, with the 1.0 carat size range gaining 9.2% and 0.3 carats rising 7.3%.
Mixed qualities struggled, however, with 0.5 carats losing 2.9% and 0.3 carats losing 4.2%
