The main PolishedPrices index opened down 2.0% from the previous week on Monday at 150.0 points. The overall index is currently 4.5% above its level of this time last year and has lost 3.2% since the start of the year.
Most ranges ended the week lower. Mixed quality 1.0 and 0.3 carats were the weakest of the benchmark categories, falling 6.7% and 5.7% respectively.
The only categories in positive territory were Fine 0.5 carats showing modest gains of 0.2% and Commercial 0.3 carats slightly higher at 0.3%.
